We are Girl Scout Troop 2732 and we are here to tell you about what we did for our Bronze Award. Our Bronze Award project was making blankets for dogs and cats at the Humane Society. We chose our project based on our love of animals. We decided to make blankets for the cats and dogs because we thought that they needed something to cuddle on. We faced a few problems, but the biggest problems were finding time to make the blankets and figuring out how to pay for fabric. We solved the problem by selling Girl Scout cookies to earn money for the fabric and we all took fabric home to work on the blankets during our own free time. We had a lot of fun helping the animals and making the blankets. This was a lot of work but it paid off to see all the happy faces on the animals.
We discovered that we can help dogs and cats in many ways. The shelter provides homes for the animals until they find a “forever” home. They need lots of help, like volunteers to walk the dogs, or play with the cats, or clean up after the animals. They need supplies like cat litter, food, blankets, towels, and even cleaning supplies. We also discovered when you give to others it makes you feel good about yourself. We made the world a better place by giving the cats and dogs at the Humane Society comfort while they wait for a new home. We lived by the Girl Scout law by making the world a better place and being kind and caring. Thank you for reading about our Bronze Award project we hope you can help animals just like we did.
