Troop 76091 is hosting two Car Care workshops with the help of local businesses to help Girl Scouts earn the Senior Car Care badge and give them life long skills. Troop 76091 is using this fundraiser to earn money for their individual Gold Award Projects and future travel.
Saturday, April 4, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Career Elevation and Technology Center, 1200 S. Sunset St., Longmont, CO 80501
$25 per attendee
Brian Smallwood is an instructor of automotive technologies at the Career Elevation and Technology Center in Longmont and is all for educating youth to be safe and prepared on their new adventures in driving.

Robert Blaes founded Stang Auto Tech in 1980 and is all for educating youth to be safe and prepared on their new adventures in driving.
These workshops will be hands on, so please bring a vehicle you will be driving so you can learn how to care for it properly. Don't stress if you don't have a vehicle. You will learn lessons that will last a lifetime! All attendees should plan to wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Please also plan to bring a snack, water, and lunch.
This workshop meets all Senior Girl Scout Car Care badge requirements. Badge will be included. Anyone that is nearing or is of driving age is encouraged to attend. The following will be reviewed and more may be added:
Basic car care maintenance
Checking fluid levels under the hood
Changing windshield wipers
Changing air filters
Jumping a dead battery
Tires (checking pressure, checking the tread, and changing)
Oil change
Vehicle safety
Safe-driving tips
What to do in case of an emergency
Roadside emergency kits
How to handle common driving hazards or breakdowns
Drive for a greener world
