Girl Scouts of Colorado former Board Chair Rae Ann Dougherty received high praise from the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in June for her service to three distinct World Board Committees and more when she was presented with the WAGGGS Medal of Service award at the WAGGGS World Conference in Cambodia.

 The WAGGGS Medal of Service is the highest form of recognition that WAGGGS can bestow. It is awarded to individuals who have distinguished themselves in their outstanding service to Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting at both national and global levels, and whose service is considered to be exceptional, noteworthy and/or extraordinary in nature. 

Rae Ann has been active in the Girl Scouts of Colorado council for many years, including as a troop leader and her service on the Board of Directors. She also has served as a Gold Award Mentor and is supporting Global Girl Scouting. Together with her husband, Rich, they established the Look Wider Travel Scholarship Fund at GSCO to help Colorado Girl Scouts with funding to fulfill their travel dreams while discovering the magic and power of the international sisterhood of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
