Hometown Heroes: Safety in community

Five Daisies, one Brownie and one Junior from multi-level Troop 65659 came together on April 5 to deliver over 270 packages of donated cookies to the volunteers of the Trans Continental Pipeline. The mission statement of the Denver-based non-profit is to help “Queer and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals move from unsafe environments to Colorado and provide connections and resources through our relocation program.”

The Girl Scouts gave the cookies to Executive Director Keira who told them that the team at TCP was eager to receive the cookies and several team members had already told her what varieties they were looking forward to. Keeping our community safe is an important theme for Troop 65659. The troop agreed that the volunteers at TCP are heroes in our community.
