Clemmer's 12 year selling strategy

After 12 years of participating in the Fall Product and Girl Scout Cookie Programs I can confidently say there are two keys to being successful: Set a high goal and ask everyone!
When I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE. My mom jokes that during the cookie program she has dreams of me saying “Hi! Would you like to buy Girl Scout Cookies?” because whenever I am at a booth I ask everyone who walks past me. Yes, I get a lot of people who ignore me or make up an excuse, but even more people, turn around and come check out my table!

The same goes during the Fall Product Program. My first year I set a small goal, but I had a local business owner tell me I needed to set a high goal and if I didn’t hit it, then I knew how to adjust for next year. So I did! And every year since I have been the top seller in my troop in both programs. I’ll be honest, those first years were just about earning the biggest stuffie available. Now it’s more about the funds my troop can use!
So, get out there and ask. Most people don’t know we sell candies and magazines, let alone Bark Boxes with dog toys! But the people who know, know how delicious those candies are! Many people use them as holiday gifts so don’t be afraid to suggest that. Yes, it’s September but the holidays will be here before you know it and who wouldn’t want a few gifts checked off their list. My favorites are the chocolate covered almonds and the fruit slices, but you can’t go wrong with any of those tasty treats!
Bonus, talk to your friends who have pets and tell them about those Bark Boxes AND Patch Pals, the new dog cookie that will be available during the next cookie season!
