58th National Council Session input

The GSCO delegates are gathering feedback from Girl Scouts of Colorado members ahead of the July National Council Session (NCS). The delegation is committed to having a strong and informed understanding of how GSCO members feel about these proposals, ensuring that their votes reflect the perspectives of our local Girl Scout community.

Proposal 1: Membership Dues Increase Threshold

(From Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago & Northwest Indiana)

This proposal would require National Council approval if membership dues increase more than 15% (instead of 25%) within a three-year period.

Proposal 2: Highest Awards – Solicitation of Contributions

(From Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania) This proposal would allow all Girl Scouts (Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award levels) to solicit donations for their projects (with council approval), instead of limiting it to older Girl Scouts only.

Proposal 3: Entrepreneurship Program Protection

(From Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland) This proposal would prevent GSUSA and partners from selling Girl Scout cookie-branded or inspired food products during the official Girl Scout product sales period, to reduce competition with girls’ sales.
