GSCO’s first ever Innovation Fair

Calling all Cadette, Seniors, and Ambassadors with an innovative mind! Oh wait… that’s all Girl Scouts! Girl Scouts of Colorado is excited to host our first EVER Innovation Fair powered by Arrow Electronics and we want to see what you have innovated to make the world a better place. Looking for some feedback for your highest awards project? Have an idea that could make life easier? Created something that could change the world? Bring them to the Innovation Fair and have judges review, score, and provide feedback on your presentation.

Exhibit Requirements

  1. Your display should clearly show:

  2. Problem Statement o Innovation Idea

  3. How you came up with your idea o How could this innovation be put into action?

  4. Display should fit on half of a six-foot table. You will be sharing the table with another Girl Scout.

  5. We suggest using a tri-fold foam display, but it is not required. We do not want to restrict your creativity of your display!

  6. Model of your innovation. Can be made of any material- cookie boxes are a great material to upcycle.

  7. You will need to develop a 1-minute pitch about your idea and be prepared to answer follow-up questions from the judges.

Prizes:

  1. 1st Place: $250 and a ride for them and 4 friends in the Arrow Electronics SAM Car

  2. 2nd Place: Ride for them and 4 friends in the Arrow Electronics SAM Car

Judging Rubric

You will be judged on the following areas. Make sure your pitch and/or display covers all areas.

Innovation and Implementation Plan Problem is defined and accurately described ND 1 2 3 4 5 Presented innovation appropriately identifies the need for the innovation ND 1 2 3 4 5 Type of innovation is defined and described appropriately ND 1 2 3 4 5 Empathy for audience/user is identified and described ND 1 2 3 4 5 Implementation plan presents a complete description of the innovation ND 1 2 3 4 5
