Fort Lupton

Fort Lupton Brownie Troop 70757 partnered with the city to plant two trees in the city park. Recently, two very large, mature trees were removed from the park as they were no longer thriving. When the Girl Scouts learned about the Girl Scout Tree Promise, they were driven to make an impact!

We were overwhelmed by the response from our community with the Cookie Program. The girls had a goal to sell 4,000 packages, but blew past it and sold more than 6,500. As a troop, they made the decision to use the extra money they earned and give back to our community in a lasting way!

The girls worked together. The original goal was to buy one tree with a budget of $250. When they discovered that they could purchase two trees in that budget, they were thrilled. We contacted the Mayor of Fort Lupton and she graciously attended one of our meetings to explain what the girls should expect on planting day. Next, they figured out what supplies they would need, they each brought items from home, and they dug in to get the job done.

We want to hear how your girl is using her Girl Scout skills by taking initiative, caring for the community, and Girl Scouting at home. She can send in her story here.
