Support the Colorado Classic and earn a special patch

For summer 2019, GSCO is proud to support the Colorado Classic® (https://www.coloradoclassic.com/)! The Colorado Classic® presented by VF Corporation (August 22 – 25) is the only women’s standalone pro road race in the Western hemisphere. Nearly 100 of the world’s best racers from 16 teams will compete in the four-stage race over challenging iconic Colorado mountain and urban terrain, starting in Steamboat Springs, moving to Avon, then Golden and finishing in Denver. The race has earned the prestigious 2.1 classification by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and is on USA Cycling’s Pro Road Tour.

More than a race, the Colorado Classic is a movement empowering woman of all ages and abilities to transform their lives and the world through sports. The race is advancing women’s pro cycling with harder, longer routes; unprecedented financial support; and daily live TV streaming coverage that puts women’s racing on a global stage. Bicycling Magazine named the Colorado Classic one of 13 races in the world not to be missed this year.

Girl Scouts are invited to watch the race at a special Girl Scout viewing section in one of the host communities OR stream the race from home and go on a bike ride to earn a special Colorado Classic patch. Please review the instructions below and fill out the online patch notification form to receive this special patch. Please note we have 200 patches to give away across the state!

You can also check out all the Activities for Youth that the Colorado Classic has outlined for all youth across Colorado.

Option 1 – There will be special Girl Scout viewing sections set up in all four hosting communities, all details are listed below. Watch the race in person and snap a photo or two of you at the race! Please note, there will not be a GSCO representative at these locations, they are just meeting spots for Girl Scouts.
