Girls Rule, Science is Cool: Girl Scouts STEM Day

Steamboat Springs Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes recently spent a no-school-day Friday learning STEM concepts in fun, hands-on sessions led by local science professionals (nearly all of them women). Girls donned lab coats to learn forensics from local police, designed marble runs as a way to explore engineering basics, and filtered water in learning about our water treatment plant. They also explored electricity and used paper circuits to create a light-up journal, and produced projects using 3D printers. Girls Rule, Science is Cool!
