Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts are invited to join GSCO’s Rocket Team! Girl Scouts have an opportunity to design and build a payload for United Launch Alliance’s Summer Intern Launch in July 2017. The team will meet January-July to design a payload and submit a proposal for a chance to launch their payload in a ULA rocket in July 2017. The launch is typically held the third weekend of July and was held at Fort Carson last year.

We’re looking for 3-10 Cadettes, Seniors, or Ambassadors to form the team. This is a first come, first served opportunity and the team will fill quickly. The team will meet in Colorado Springs/Pike’s Peak region. We expect the time commitment to be about 3-4 hours a week and the team will work with adult volunteers to determine a convenient schedule.

Dr. Warren Layfield from the Colorado Springs Rocket Society will lead the team. Dr. Layfield is a NASA Rocket Scientist who has mentored numerous youth in rocketry and Aerospace sciences. Interested in volunteering to assist? We’ll need adults to help with the team, too!

To sign-up for the team or to volunteer, please email lori.thompson@gscolorado.org. Thanks!
